Clinic websites

Medical and clinic website design for Southampton and UK practices

A medical website has two readers: the patient deciding whether to book, and the regulator checking what you are allowed to say. We build clinic sites that satisfy both from the first template: the CQC rating where you have one, every clinician's registration on their profile, treatment pages written to the advertising rules, and booking on every page. Fixed prices from £599, for clinics in Southampton, Hampshire and across the UK.

Built into every clinic template

  • The CQC rating, its date and a link to the report, using the CQC's own widget, for rated services
  • A profile per clinician with their regulator and registration number (GMC, NMC, HCPC, GDC or GPhC)
  • Treatment pages led by the consultation, never by a prescription-only medicine
  • Prices or ranges where you publish them, with what is included
  • Online booking on every treatment page
  • An enquiry form designed for health data

The rules first

What a clinic website must show, and must not say

None of this is optional, and most of it is also what makes a health page credible to a patient and to Google. These are the rules we build to; the regulators' own pages are linked below.

The CQC rating

If the CQC has rated your service, your website must show the latest rating, the date it was given and where on the CQC site to read the report, legibly and conspicuously, within 21 calendar days of the report being published. The CQC can prosecute without a warning notice. The CQC's widget keeps the rating current automatically, so we use it.

Prescription-only medicines

Prescription-only medicines may not be advertised to the public (CAP rule 12.12, backed by regulation 284 of the Human Medicines Regulations 2012). That includes botulinum toxin under any brand and prescription weight-loss injections. The page advertises the consultation; the medicine is mentioned only factually, and not in headlines, promotions or social posts.

Cosmetic interventions

Ads for cosmetic interventions must not be directed at under-18s, efficacy claims need robust evidence, and before-and-after images must be genuine and not retouched in the treated area. Testimonials must not trivialise a procedure or exaggerate the result.

The detail on each is in our guides to displaying your CQC rating and advertising Botox and other prescription-only treatments.

The pages

What a clinic site needs to rank and to convert

Patients search for the treatment or the problem, then decide on the clinician. The site is structured the same way: a page for each treatment or condition you see, each linking to the clinicians who provide it, each with the price or range, the process and the wait, and each ending in a booking link.

For a dental practice the requirements are different and more specific; see dental website design.

Treatment and condition pages
One per treatment or presenting problem, opening with a direct answer to what patients ask: what it is, who it suits, what it costs, how long it takes. This is the passage search engines and AI summaries quote.
Clinician profiles
Name, role, qualifications, regulator and registration number, the treatments they provide and a photograph. A patient can check the register in one click.
Prices
A clear price list or ranges, with what is included and what is not. Where the treatment involves a prescription-only medicine, the price sits behind the consultation page rather than on the home page.
Trust and practicalities
The CQC rating where applicable, the complaints process, parking and access, opening hours, and a privacy notice that explains how enquiries are handled.

Price and process

Fixed prices and a remote build

The prices below are the same for every business, published on the pricing page. Most clinics choose the Business site.

Starter

£599

The smallest site we build: home, a page for every service, your work or your menu, who you are, and a form that reaches your phone. Not a one-page site

Business site

£1,200

The full site: fourteen to eighteen pages, every service, the areas from Ocean Village to Totton, the people, an enquiry path on every page, and more pages over time with the monthly work

Full details, the growth option and hosting are on the pricing page. The build is done remotely from our studio in Wrexham: a call to agree the pages, drafts you review in the browser, and a walkthrough before launch.

Questions clinics ask about their website

What does a medical website have to show by law?

It depends on who regulates the service. A clinic the CQC has rated must show its latest rating, the date it was given and where to read the report, on every website where the service is described, within 21 calendar days of the report's publication. A dental practice has a list set by the GDC instead. Any clinic advertising treatments must follow the CAP Code, which bans advertising prescription-only medicines to the public. We check which rules apply to you before the build starts.

How much does a clinic website cost?

Our builds start at £599 for a small site and £1200 for the full Business site, which is what most clinics need: a page per treatment, the clinicians, prices, booking and the regulated details. The prices are fixed and published on the pricing page; hosting and care are included on the Business site for the first year.

Can patients book online through the site?

Yes. Most practice-management and booking systems provide an online booking link or widget, and we put it on every treatment page and the clinician profiles rather than hiding it on a contact page. If you do not have one yet, the site can take booking requests that reach the right inbox and phone.

Is the contact form safe for health information?

It is built on the assumption that someone will type something about their health into it, because they do. Under UK GDPR, health data is special category data. The form asks only for what you need to call the patient back, says plainly not to include clinical details, sends over an encrypted connection, and stores nothing on the website itself. The enquiry goes to your inbox; the privacy notice says so.

You are in Wrexham. How does a build work remotely?

The studio is in Wrexham and every build is remote: a call to agree the pages, a shared folder for photographs and clinician details, drafts you review in the browser, and a call to go through the finished site before launch. Clinics in Southampton and elsewhere get the same process.

Can you take over a site we already have?

Often, yes, if it is on a platform we can move cleanly. The audit says whether to fix the current site or rebuild, and why; a rebuild is only recommended where fixing would cost more.

Find out what your current site is missing

Send your clinic's website. You get a check against the CQC, CAP and, for dental practices, GDC website rules, the searches your treatments get, and a fixed price to fix or rebuild.
